Cone Penetration Test (CPTU)Cone Penetration Test (CPTU) is an important method in geotechnical engineering to determine the physical and mechanical properties of soil. CPTU helps provide accurate information on soil bearing capacity, density and other properties, serving the design of foundations and construction of works.
CPTU static penetration test procedure
Prepare equipment and location:
Select a suitable test site and ensure the CPTU equipment is in good working condition.
Check and prepare measuring equipment, including penetration probes, pressure sensors and other auxiliary equipment.
Conduct the experiment:
Place the penetrator in the selected location and begin the static penetrative process.
The probe is pushed into the soil at a constant speed, recording parameters such as penetration force, pore water pressure and friction along the depth.
Data collection and analysis:
Collect data from sensors and measuring devices.
Analyze data to determine soil physical properties, including bearing capacity, density, coefficient of friction, and pore water pressure.
Prepare results report:
Synthesize and analyze data obtained from the experiment.
Prepare detailed reports on test results, providing necessary information for project design and construction.
